Liquid ventilators Inolivent

Liquid ventilators consist of two independent piston pumps, a perfluorocabon treatment unit (for oxygenation of and temperature control) and control system.

The liquid ventilator is volume-controlled because a very specified tidal volume of breathable liquid must be accurately delivered to the lungs and retrieved from the lungs. It is also pressure-limited because it must stop the expiratory or inspiratory phase when a too low, or a too large, driving pressure is detected at the mouth.
